Attorney Biography
Founding partner Matthew Rosen is an experienced litigator focusing his practice on Family and Matrimonial Law, Domestic Violence, and Criminal Defense. He has been named a Super Lawyer’s Rising Stars for practice in Family Law every year since 2018.
In addition to private practice, Mr. Rosen serves as a Municipal Prosecutor in Hoboken, New Jersey having been appointed in September 2020. Mr. Rosen's pro bono advocacy focuses on women's safety; he regularly provides direct representation for clients of three non-profit organizations of significant importance: the New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence, Unchained-at-Last, and the Rachel Coalition. He has also volunteered at the New Jersey Superior Court’s Family Division, as an Early Settlement Panelist in Bergen County for matrimonial actions.
Mr. Rosen received his Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University and his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University – Newark, where he served in the Rutgers Federal Tax Clinic. While still in law school, Mr. Rosen twice interned for the New Jersey Superior Court - Family Division under Judges Nergaard (ret.) and DeMarzo. After graduating law school, Mr. Rosen worked for the distinguished law firm Florio, Perrucci, Steinhardt & Fader. Prior to law school, Mr. Rosen served abroad in the United States Peace Corps for two years.
Also during law school, Mr. Rosen sought temporary legal status for immigrant victims of crime through the Law School's externship program with the American Friends Service Committee. As an intern with the UJA-Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York, Mr. Rosen participated in grant writing, facilitated donative transfers, and approached trust and estate law from the perspective of one of the world's largest non-profit charity organizations. Mr. Rosen is proud to have also been a teacher in Rutgers’ acclaimed Street Law program, which brings safe legal discussion, explanation, and conceptual learning to Newark elementary school students.
Mr. Rosen is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey State Municipal Prosecutor’s Association, his local reform synagogue, the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ, and Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. He also serves on the board of his communities’ housing association. Mr. Rosen lives in Clifton NJ with his wife and young daughter.
